Rings of Damage should only display the damage enchantment and hide the always +0 to-hit value to be consistent with Rings of Accuracy.

Description

At the moment it's a big giveaway seeing a Longsword (4d5) after detecting objects. As per discussion on Oook, all weapons ought to show their standard dice until you walk over them or pick them up, at which point their real dice are revealed. Or possibly not until they're wielded or IDd. But anyway, the point is to change the way they're displayed before this.
