Improve the run command

One could imagine the run command working a lot better in caverns and other irregularly shaped areas.

I haven't fully thought through how the current run semantics would need to be changed to make this work (and if it might open the player up to new threats) but it's worth looking into.

I would suggest that this is actually quite a sophisticated piece of redesign and should be left for 3.4 or later. What we perhaps want is a micro version of Crawl's "auto-explore" algorithm, for following irregular walls.
