Description (last modified by takkaria) (diff)

Make rods rarer and up the mana for the priest spell.

Make it give info on all attacks and resistances, and possibly more.

Tweak monster memory so it tells you what you do not know (e.g. no idea about attacks, or drops, etc.)

There are other ways to find out what can paralyse you. I'm not going to post a spoiler, but it's easy to find out what any monster does, if you know where to look.

This would be nice to know. I don't know any other mean to figure out if something hits to paralyze than trying. And trying without FA is instant death. Unless monster description tells that... If you try with FA then effect of hit should be visible in monster memory after getting hit.

It would be nice to get this kind of info from probing, but IMO probing does just opposite to what would be useful info.

Werner Baer writes:

It [probing] also gives resists. Very useful if you play a mage like i do (kill things with spells and magic items, not with melee or shooting). But i think to make it more useful, it should also show the breath attacks of the monster. And monster depth. This still wouldn't make it a useful end game item for experienced players, but it would be very useful for new players when they reach a depth where they never had been.

Unless the player has tried it on a number of boring monsters, noticed that it gives little useful info, and classified it as junk.

It would help if it in addition informed the player that the monster "has no resistances or breath attacks".
