#586 confirmed change

Allow restriction of auto pickup to consumables

Description

When playing a magic user, it is a bit annoying that the basic books are also cought by auto pickup.

It would be nice to be able to restrict auto pickup to things that get consumed or emptied (e.g. wands) on use, and not items with unlimited uses like books.

Un has this feature. Inscribe an item with:

  • { =g5} means pick up this item unless you already have five of them
  • {=d5} means don't pick up this item unless you already have five or more of them
  • {=k5} means destroy this item if you already have five of them
  • {=i5} means ignore up this item if you already have five of them

Kind of confusing, but it's nice for spellbooks, flasks of oil, etc. (though I'm not sure that they all work in un yet.)

what's the difference between =i5 and =d5?
Pseudo squelch for =i5?

http://angband.oook.cz/forum/showthread.php?t=4944 - suggestion is like the Un implementation described above.

  • Milestone changed from 4.0 to 3.5.0

These are all underlying or uncontroversial issues, unconnected with the experimental nature of v4 - therefore re-setting to V milestone.
