#857 new change

^t, !*, !d, !g, and \s

Reported by: KZK Owned by:
Milestone: Future Keywords: inscriptions

Description

(not)t and !* should question y/n on wear/wield.

(The not (carrot) symbol apparently doesn't work in descriptions in trac).

Squelch should not remove items marked !d.

Items incribed !d should not be dropped when a pack overthows (when you take off an item), it should prompt for which item to drop (all other items might be incribed !d).

In Macros/Keymaps? \s should suppress more continuation prompts for text over-runs (FREX exchanging weapons with very long names).

(\s should be added to the default exchange macro, it's important to know which weapon you are currently wielding, but knowing what you were wearing is a useless promt for exchanging).

!g should work. FREX to not pick up items inscribed with !g, when you don't want to squelch that item, but you don't normally want to pick it up either.

The caret symbol doesn't do anything when inscribed on objects, why should that happen for wielded ones ? The later is also already implemented.

Squelch should not remove items marked !d.

What do you mean by "remove"? Drop? Destroy? Take off? Hide when hide_squelchable is set?

It's not worth implementing this.

Why is \e not sufficient?

When would you use this feature?

It does - it prevents you using that command on that object. The only context I've ever known it used is . to prevent running (into trouble) with your digger.

In David Blackston's original squelch implementation, ANY inscription at all caused the item to be ignored for squelch purposes. This is better though.
