NPP-style support added for ego lanterns in [445227c] (SVN r59), [ec84823] (SVN r60); lanterns no longer have a pval.
(No actual ego lanterns added.)

bug in pmacs' fix: lanterns & torches timeouts aren't getting compared properly when stacking in the pack.

Normal stores no longer sell lanterns, and no longer buy back food or non-ego/artifact lights. possibly food needs to be a little cheaper, or the varieties be reduced somewhat (and allow various kinds of food to be found in the dungeon).

Introduce the following ego-items:

  • of Shadows; STEALTH | RES_LITE (may eventually have a chance of being cursed)
  • of Brightness; LITE (+1 radius light)
  • (Everburning); NO_FUEL
  • of True Sight; RES_BLIND | SEE_INVIS

Add a possible "+1 radius light" timed effect, which has a slightly bad name (untested). Also, to fix a pet peeve, lights don't use up any fuel during the daytime in the town. I *hate* micromanagement.

Specifically, the main problem remaining is ID on lanterns. Everburning and Brightness can be obvious enough, but Shadows and True Sight can't. Auto-inscribe these with {interesting} is an option... I just don't want to make people have to ID every single lantern because that adds even more TMJ.

Possibly going to:

  • remove "Brass" from the Lantern name
  • "(with xxxx turns of light)" -> "(xxxx turns)"
