Group 1 - could be considered ok for 3.3 (if not actually finished, at least no longer needing urgent attention)
- Cave generation revision? (light, labyrinth levels)
- Consequential refactoring (#1431 and possibly #1376)
- Rebalance ego DSMs
- Monster saves versus sleep and other timed effects
- Stats generation improvements (see forthcoming documentation at StatsHowTo and #786)
- One spell left to learn bug (#679)
- Persistent randarts (#1155)
- Object origin crash if origin is monster no longer in monster.txt (#1392)
- Display issues: #1388, #1423, #1327, #1373
- Giving away info: #1310
- Tone down off-weapon +dam on standarts (#1341)
- Savefile loader test suite (with savefiles of lots of old versions) #1303

Group 2 - probably need some more work before 3.3
- Various input issues: #1378, #1389, #1417, #1316, #1313, #1307, forum bug (and other InputRework bugs)
- Revert or fix squelch (need to be able to kill a given quantity of items, at least)
- Availability of protections, particularly confusion (not sure what the problem is here - magnate)
- General availability of good/great items

- When should we set a code freeze for 3.3?
- More formal release engineering process
