#814 closed bug (fixed (in master))

Lose turn when unable to attack

Reported by: fph Owned by:
Milestone: 3.1.1 beta Keywords: fear combat
Cc:

Description

When you are (knowingly) unable to attack, e.g. under the effect of fear or wearing a ring of Escaping, you get the relevant message but still lose a turn. This constrasts with trying to walk through a wall, for which you get a message but you do not lose a turn.

Is this intentional? I think fixing this would prevent some newbie silly deaths.

Sorry about that, apparently I forgot to test my first patch with something invisible. This seems to do the trick. Now you only lose a turn when there's an invisible monster (because that gives you information), and you definitely shouldn't be able to attack anything anymore while afraid.

Ooops. http://angband.oook.cz/forum/showthread.php?t=2113

This needs to deal with invisible monsters too.
